Wandering Landscape
Mirror Interior
2019
mirroring dual ambience, mobile chandelier, two tables, two books, fans
2 × (400 × 400 x 300 cm)
The chandelier slowly moves from one of the two identical rooms to the other and back, passing through the wall that divides them. Entering each room, it illuminates it, and stops above a table with a book whose pages begin to turn back and forth. On each page of the book the date and time of its expiration is printed.
The viewer gives up on choosing which page to watch and indulges in the random minutes as the wind brings them to him. By abolishing will, all moments seem eternal.
Interior in a Crevice
2018
photograph, inkjet print on paper, plywood, interior model
250 × 50 × 10 cm
The feeling of freedom and exposure in unlimited spaces is juxtaposed to the feeling of protection in enclosed isolated interiors. In a minimalist lowland landscape an interior has been embedded, a place of self-indulgements and comfort.
Puddle
2015
photograph, inkjet print on canvas
266 x 150 cm
During my childhood it was a landscaped orchard with a spring and a waterhole for the cattle from which a stream flowed. Landlady died a long time ago, the cattle are gone, and the orchard has turned into an impervious shrubbery and forest, but full of life, intersected by wildlife paths to the puddle they used to drink from. In this hidden world, nature has created a sublime semi dark chamber. I’ve brought a chandelier to illuminate it and for a moment reflect itself in the watery heart of this interior of nature.
Treetop with a Chandelier
2015
ambiental installation
inkjet print on foil, container with water, chandelier
252 x 130 x 200 cm
The brief onset of hypertrophy of the pleasures of all the senses brings along a painful feeling of its unsustainability. It can only be preserved as a scene stored in memory, here banalized to the floral wallpaper in a room of daily residence. An interior that is not real, but only a fragile shell, a desirable delusion. The lowest crystal of the chandelier touches the surface of the water in which its image is reflected. This parallel space, made of dark matter, is equally real and illusory. Moments of meeting a reflection are ephemeral.
Chandelier (at the Edge)
2012 /2016
photograph, inkjet print on canvas, print on plexiglass
227 x 90 x 20 cm
At the edge of the safe interior of the forest, a window opens overlooking a clearing. In the gap of light that blinds eyes accustomed to the semi-darkness, the ghostly image of a chandelier is glimpsed.
Interior
2001
ambiental video installation, two-channel video projection, portable air conditioner with ventilation tubes
dimensions according to the gallery space
A restless fire from one of the projections, fictitiously fanned by blowing hot and cold air into the installation space, dynamically illuminates the interior on the second projection. The real feeling of warmth, coldness and air flow, brings sensory sensations of open spaces to the ambiance.
